Obituary

Andrew Paul Durham, age 32, passed away on April 11, 2020. Beloved son of Paul and Ruth Durham, loving brother of Maria (Kyle) Rood, dear nephew, cousin, and friend to many.
Andrew was born November 30, 1987. He graduated from DeSmet Jesuit High School and attended St. Louis Community College (Meramec) and the University of Missouri Science and Technology. He was an outbound supervisor at UPS.
Andrew approached everything in his life with uncommon intensity, diving headfirst into all of his many passions. He was fearless and loved taking things to the extreme. He only knew one speed, fast. He loved riding his motorcycle (regardless of the weather), wake boarding behind any boat that could pull him fast enough, jumping from cliffs or planes, snowboarding (despite the fact that he lived in a city with no mountains), scuba diving, anything that could make his heart race. He enjoyed traveling to Bull Shoals Lake, Hawaii, California, or anywhere near the water.
He loved the outdoors and had a unique appreciation of nature. Taking a walk with Andrew as a child was like seeing the world from a brand-new perspective. He would be fascinated by the smallest details most people would just walk by without noticing. His many rescued pets, including a 3-legged Alligator, are outnumbered only by his vast collection of plants, for which he cared for diligently. He would spend hours working in his garden, nurturing tiny seeds into beautiful plants or growing vegetables for those he loved.
Andrew had a magnetic personality and made friends everywhere he went. He loved music, his tie-dye was a work of art, and he made the most delicious grilled cheese sandwiches. He was intelligent, fiercely loyal, and had a joke for every moment. He craved human connection and felt everything in only the deepest ways. Andrew's huge smile and generous heart always had a way of lifting those around him. He was truly a bright light in this world and will be missed by many.
