Obituary

Andrew Paul Rudolph
March 6, 1965 – June 20, 2025

Andrew (Andy) Paul Rudolph of Chesterfield, Missouri, passed away on June 20, 2025. He is survived by his beautiful mother, Nancy (Brunkhardt) Rudolph; his brother, Daniel Rudolph (Annabelle); his sister, Jill Dobson (Christopher); and his cherished nieces, Emily and Katherine Rudolph. He was preceded in death by his loving father and best friend, Richard Francis Rudolph, Jr.

Andy was born in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, and in 1969, his family relocated to St. Louis, Missouri, where he spent most of his life. He graduated from Chaminade College Preparatory School, studied at Texas Christian University, and later earned his degree from Saint Louis University.

Throughout his career, Andy embraced a variety of roles. He spent several years in the hotel and hospitality industry, working and living in Mount Vernon, Illinois; Canton, Ohio; and Birmingham, Alabama. He later worked with the Transportation Security Administration in Savannah, Georgia, and eventually transitioned into the construction industry, with roles in Tampa, Florida, and Charlotte, North Carolina.

Andy was a passionate sports fan. Though his heart belonged to his hometown St. Louis teams, he enthusiastically adopted the local teams wherever he lived—always ready to discuss, debate, and celebrate with family and friends. His interests extended far beyond sports. He found joy in fishing-whether at the family lake house in Innsbrook or along the Gulf Coast, cherished beach vacations with his family at St. George Island, and loved reading, cooking, and listening to rock music.

His love for animals was unmistakable. He cared for many beloved pets throughout his life, treating each one with affection, and unwavering attention. He had a gift for giving each pet a unique and memorable name which reflected his creativity and sense of humor.

Andy was the champion of the underdog. Whether it was a person, a team, or a cause, he instinctively stood up for those who were overlooked or underestimated. His loyalty and compassion were constant in his relationships and daily life.

Those who knew Andy remember him as one of the most intelligent people they had ever met. He was well versed in literature, politics, music, movies, and sports. However, it was his infectious smile and sharp wit that made a lasting impression and endeared him to everyone he encountered.

In the last five years of his life, Andy dedicated himself to caring for his parents. During this time, his devotion, generosity, and compassion exemplified the best of his character. He was deeply loved as a son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend—and he will be profoundly missed.

A private service will be held at a later date.
