Obituary

Anna Raye (Franklin) Mitchell passed away peacefully at Friendship Village in St. Louis on February 5 and is now in her eternal home with our Lord.

Anna was born in Blount County, Tennessee on May 9, 1943.  She was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Mitchell, parents Raymond and Elizabeth Franklin and her sister Shirley Williams.

Anna is the loving mother of Monica (Daniel) Rogers, and Matt (Jami) Mitchell.  She is the cherished Grandma of Emilee Mitchell, Lucas Rogers and Kali Rogers.  She is the sister of Florence (Sonny) Hurst, David (Pat) Franklin, Evelyn (Peter) Kissinger and dear aunt, cousin, and friend to many.

Anna graduated from Everett High School in Blount County, Tennessee where Anna and Jim first met.  After attending cosmetology school, Anna spent many years investing in the lives of her customers as she cut, colored and styled their hair.

Anna devoted her life to serving the Lord and Savior along side her husband Jim.  She ministered in many capacities, especially to their deacon families, at Parkway Baptist Church for over 40 years.  Raising her children was one of her greatest joys. In addition to being active in their schools, numerous sporting activities, and volunteering in children and youth activities at Parkway, her home was always open to her children's friends and the site of many gatherings.

Anna was a loving wife, mother and grandma and servant of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  She will be missed by all who love her.
