Obituary

Bernice M. Probst (nee Morrison)
November 25, 1917 - May 19, 2024

Bernice M. Probst passed away on Sunday May 19, 2024, fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church.

Born November 25, 1917 in Brewer, Mo. to the late Clarence and Dora (Besand) Morrison.  The beloved wife of the late George Probst Jr; the loving mother of the late George and wife Cynthia Probst III and the late Carol Grotegeers.

Bernice is survived by her beloved grandchildren Duane (Sheryl Justice) Probst, Renee Grotegeers and Kathy (Andrew) Kasten and her great grandchildren Ayla and Jamisen Kasten and son in law Jeff Grotegeers. She was a dear aunt, cousin and friend.

Bernice was the youngest of 5 children. She was predeceased by siblings Beulah Remelius, David Morrison, Lela Russo and Joseph Morrison.

Bernice loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She made many friends over the years while living at Santa Maria Apartments, Holy Angels Apartments and St. Agnes Home.

At almost 106 1/2 years she has seen so much in her lifetime. From going to church in a horse and wagon, driving to Perryville from St Louis with her family in a model A Ford, learning to drive, and having a cell phone in her car in her 80's.

Bernice had so much love for her family. Bernice was sassy, spunky and independent. She loved to talk to people and in her words she had a motor mouth and kept it well oiled.

Her family would like to thank the Carmelite Sisters of the Divine Heart of Jesus and the dedicated Staff at St. Agnes Home for the care and support they provided Bernice the last 3 1/2 years.

In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Agnes Home 10341 Manchester Road Kirkwood, Mo. 63122 is appreciated (www.stagneshome.com)
