Obituary

Bruce James Rehm of Overland, Missouri passed away at the age of 79on Sunday February 15, 2026, while surrounded by his family. Bruce was born on May 17, 1946, to the late Walter G. Rehm and Lou (Tallent) Rehm.
Bruce began working at the youthful age of fifteen, helping his Uncle Sam who was a manger for the A&P Grocery Store. In 1965, Bruce began classes at Flo Valley Community College where he majored in Art and pursued one of his passions of drawing and building models. He used his natural skills to build intricate replicas of cars and other interests, including a lifelike replica of the ship he served on while in the Navy.
In 1966 when he was a young 20 years old, Bruce enlisted in the Navy for a 6-year term. The first two years of his service he served as a Naval Reservist. After that he spent two years on active duty and served in Vietnam. While in Vietnam, Bruce proudly served aboard the USS Sutter County LST 1150. He finished out his remaining two years as a Naval Reservist.
During his service in Vietnam, Bruce was granted 30 days leave and while home he married the "love of his life", Debbie (Bunch) Rehm. The two of them honeymooned in Florida and their first daughter Kristine was born less than a year later while Bruce was still away serving in the Navy.
Upon Discharge from the Navy, Bruce returned home to his wife and daughter. Three and a half years later in 1972, their second daughter, Wendi was born. They purchased a home on Driver Ave, in Overland, MO and was still residing there with Debbie at the time of his death.
In 1976 he became a manager of his own A&P Store on Delmar. He was immensely proud of this fact and shared many stories over the years about his experiences at A&P.
Later in life, Bruce was employed by Fred Weber Construction, performing work on several projects in the St. Louis area including the Arch parking garage, the hydraulic pitching mound at Busch Stadium, and I-170 extension. Upon leaving Fred Weber Construction he became self-employed as a General Contractor. After retirement, Bruce decided to take part time work at Code 3, Inc. where he did assembly work on police, fire, and ambulance emergency equipment.
Bruce was passionate about spending time with his family at home and in one of his favorite getaways, the Lake of the Ozarks. He spent countless weekends at the lake with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He enjoyed time with them on the family pontoon and around the BBQ pit and campfires.
In the last years of his life, Bruce and Debbie joined his two brothers and their spouses on their annual trip to Panama City Beach to escape the Missouri winters. He loved the beach and the sunsets in Florida. He was always sure to head out to the deck around sunset to capture the beauty on his camera.
Bruce is survived by his wife of 58 years, two daughters Kristine Gerling Metcalf (Mike) of Fenton, Missouri, Wendi Christisen (John) of Washington, Missouri, two brothers, Lance Rehm (Loris) of Washington, Indiana, Ron Rehm (Marcia) of Overland, Missouri, Grandchildren Brendan Gerling (Anna), Keegan Gerling (Tara Gawedzinski), Christopher Gerling, Eve Christisen, Luke Christisen (Crystaal), Melinda Fiarkoski (Jake) and Great Grandchildren Nash and Lydia Christisen, Alexander Christisen, and Theodore Gerling as well as countless nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
