Obituary

Baptized into the hope of Christ's Resurrection on Friday, February 6, 2026. Beloved wife of the late Jack Becker for 63 years; cherished mother and mother-in-law of Barbara (Al) Winkeler, Mary Corich, Teresa Parker, Jill (Don) Guilfoy, Chris (Tina) Becker, and Matt Becker; loving grandmother of Joe, Theresa (Jeff) Schmidt, Tim and Jeff (Stephani) Winkeler, Michael (Allison) and Daniel (Wendy) Becker, Andy (Kristin), Christopher (Erin), Nicholas and Anna Corich, Tom, Daniel, Katie, David, Briana, Ariana, and Nina Parker, and Patrick, Sara, and Michael Guilfoy; proud great-grandmother of Jacob, Abby, James, Greta, Hunter, Adalyn, Julia, William, Claire, Jack, Charlotte, Violet, and Hazel. Dear sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great-aunt, cousin, and friend to many.

Carol and Jack shared 63 wonderful years of marriage before his passing in 2013. Together, they raised six strong, independent children, each of whom earned a college degree — one of Carol's greatest sources of pride.

After dedicating many years as a homemaker and raising her children, Carol devoted her time to service and creativity. She volunteered for more than 30 years at Mercy Hospital. Her most cherished role at Mercy was in the nursery where she gave many babies their first bath including many of her own grandchildren.  Not only did she work in the nursery, but she lovingly sewed gowns for babies who passed shortly before or after birth and heart pillows for cardiac patients.  Mom also volunteered in the lunchroom at St. Monica's School. Her compassion and generosity touched countless lives.

Visitation at the Ortmann Stipanovich Funeral Home, 12444 Olive Blvd. Fri., Feb. 13 from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. Service at 12 p.m.

As an empty nester, Carol discovered a love for bowling, joining teams with names such as "The Holy Rollers" and "Oops." She and Jack shared a love of travel, making many cherished trips to Disney World, traveling to Europe and Alaska, and enjoying numerous cruises, many aboard the Disney Cruise Line.

For Carol, a perfect day began in a Mickey sweatshirt and included a delicious donut or cinnamon roll, watching birds, tending her orchids, keeping an eye out for deer, quilting, and ending the day with a bowl of ice cream. Perfect Sundays were spent at Bread Co. with "Sunday Family".Her remarkable sewing talents spanned decades and included creating clothing, costumes, dolls, stuffed animals, Barbie clothes, prom and bridesmaid dresses, and the most beautiful quilts imaginable. Her creativity, patience, and love were stitched into everything she made.

Her legacy of love, service, and creativity will live on through all who were blessed to know her compassion and generosity touched countless lives.

Donations to the American Cancer Society appreciated.
