Carol Ann Steib, née Protte, entered eternal life on September 19, 2026, at the age of 82. She was born on July 28, 1944, to the late Albert and Florence (Stoll) Protte and grew up wrangling her younger siblings Gloria, Gary, and David. Carol attended Bishop DuBourg High School and graduated from DePaul School of Nursing. Her Catholic faith was at the heart of her life and an essential part of who she was. Carol was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Carl R. Steib. Together for 38 years, they shared a life rooted in love, faith, and family. She is survived by her devoted sons, Kurt Steib (Maggi) and Christopher Steib; her loving grandchildren, Carl B. Steib (Hannah), Amber Fee (James), Catherine Steib, and Francisco Steib; two great-grandchildren; and her dear siblings Gloria Davis (the late Glenn), Gary Protte (Jane), and David Protte. Carol will be remembered for her gift of thoughtful conversation, her generosity, and her welcoming spirit. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace. Services will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Friendship Village Chesterfield Chapel, 15201 Olive Blvd, Chesterfield, MO 63017.
