Catherine "Kitty" Ann Brown, February 28, 1939 – August 5, 2023

Brown, Catherine "Kitty" Ann (nee Wheaton), passed away on August 5, 2023, at the age of 84. She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Brown and her sister, Carole Martinez. Kitty is survived by her daughters, Karin Lowery (nee Brown) and Kristin (Mark) Brown; her grandson Conaire Brown; her brother Phil (Sherry) Lewis; her sister Lisa (Billy) Grills; her sister-in-law Patricia Yates , and many nieces and nephews.

Kitty was born February 28, 1939, in North Hollywood, CA. She graduated from Shasta High School and Chico State University. Her career began as a kindergarten teacher, but she stepped away to raise her two daughters. Kitty was a founding member of a local quilt guild, Piece Mill Quilters. She was honored with the Pillar of Parkway Award in 1988 for her volunteer work and support of the school district. Kitty became an elementary school librarian and loved helping children unlock a love of reading. Later, she went to school to earn her master's degree and continued to be a top-notch librarian until her retirement, when she spent time traveling in Europe and spoiling her grandson.
