Christopher Robert Pulliam, known to all as Chris, passed away on July 27, 2026, at the age of 65.

Born on January 27, 1961, in St. Louis, Missouri, Chris was the beloved son of Harvey and Gloria Pulliam. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Patricia Ann Pulliam.

Chris is survived by his devoted wife, Kathryn Pulliam; his children, Caroline (Matthew) Menendez, Sarah (Will) Shadwick, Timothy (Meghan) Pulliam, and Matthew Pulliam; his cherished grandchildren, Fallon, Eisley, and Gatlin Menendez, and Jack and June Shadwick; his brothers, Michael Pulliam and Thomas Pulliam; and his sister, Sally Kellogg, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, dear friends, and all whose lives were brighter because they knew him.

A graduate of Christian Brothers College High School, Chris went on to attend Bradley University. He dedicated more than 30 years of service to the City of Florissant as its Media Director, where he faithfully served the community with professionalism, creativity, and pride.

Chris had an extraordinary gift for bringing joy to those around him. He loved to laugh, but even more than that, he loved making others laugh. His quick wit, playful spirit, and warm heart made people feel welcome wherever he went.

Music was one of the great passions of his life. A devoted Beatles fan, Chris found joy in picking up a guitar, sitting behind a drum set, and sharing his love of music with family and friends. Whether introducing someone to a favorite song or turning an ordinary car ride into a jam session, he believed music was meant to be shared.

He was also an avid sports enthusiast with an incredible memory. There wasn’t a piece of sports trivia he didn’t know or a historic date he couldn’t recall. His knowledge amazed family and friends, but what they will remember even more was his enthusiasm for sharing it.

Above all, Chris was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was a patient father whose children always knew they could come to him for guidance, a listening ear, or simply the comfort of knowing they were loved. He was steady, kind, and fun—the dad who was always ready to play another board game, shuffle a deck of cards, head outside to practice a sport, or cheer the loudest from the stands. He gave his children not only wonderful memories, but also the confidence that came from knowing someone always believed in them.

Nothing brought Chris greater joy than his grandchildren. He delighted in playing silly games with them, making them laugh, and sharing stories about his own childhood adventures. They knew him as a grandfather whose love was playful, joyful, and unconditional.

A faithful Catholic and devoted member of St. John Bosco Parish, Chris lived a life rooted in faith, kindness, and gratitude. He taught his family to love God, to never miss an opportunity to tell someone you love them, and to cherish life’s simple moments, especially those shared with the people who matter most.

Chris leaves behind a legacy of faith, laughter, music, and unconditional love. His family will forever hear him in every Beatles song, remember him in every spirited sports conversation, smile through every board game around the table, and think of him whenever a car ride turns into a singalong. Though his absence leaves an immeasurable void, the love he gave so freely will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made in Chris Pulliam’s memory to the Parkinson’s Foundation to support ongoing research and care for individuals and families affected by Parkinson’s disease.
