Obituary

Cody Carson passed away suddenly at his home in Astoria, New York on September 2, 2026.

He was born on November 16, 1984 in St. Louis, Missouri to Peter and Peggy (Barnett) Carson--bringing what they always called the happiest day of their lives.

Cody's vibrant spirit showed early. He began print and runway modeling at just 4 years old with Kid Biz modeling agency in St.Louis, later working for Talent Plus and the Mike Silver Agency in Manhattan. An athlete at a young age, Cody attended Chaminade College Preparatory School until his senior year, when he was drafted by the Helena Bighorns Junior A hockey team in Montana. He went on to play for the Cornwall Colts in Cornwall, Ontario before attending the University of Kansas, where he truly excelled at accumulating parking tickets and making lifelong friends.

Cody was the founder and owner of Bark and Bath in Astoria where his devotion to animals and his warm personality made him a pillar of his neighborhood. He will be deeply missed by the local community, friends, and neighbors alike. Outside of work Cody had a passion for hockey, fishing, Imo's Pizza, Ozzy Osbourne and grilling. His ribs were legendary at any gathering.

Charismatic and full of life, he made the world a brighter place just by being in it.

He is survived by his wife Jenery Rodriquez Carson, his parents Peter and Peggy Carson, his aunts Jeannine Liekweg, Brenda Lonsberg, his uncle, Cliff Carson; and his cousins, Tera Baker, Heather (Brian) Walters, Lindsey (Mike) Mallard, Steffen Lonsberg, James (Raina) Carson, Robert (Simon) Carson.
