Deborah Darlene
Lograsso
December 9, 1952 – January 17, 2025
Deborah Darlene Lograsso (nee Tarr)
December 9, 1952 - January 17, 2025
Debbi was baptized into the hope of Christ's Resurrection on January 17, 2025. She leaves behind three stepchildren: Jared (Kristen) Lograsso, Rebecca (Tanner) Wittland and Kevin Lograsso; her step-granddaughter Lillian Wittland; her half-sister Traci (Tom) Garner; her half-brother Howard (Cindy) Durst; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Dudley Tarr and Ada (nee Hughes) Tarr Durst.
Debbi was born in Germany, and she grew up in Maryland. As a young adult, she traveled the country and lived on the East and West coasts before making her way to St. Louis, MO in the 1980s.
In 1990, Debbi married Charlie Lograsso (a widower) and took on quite a responsibility by helping raise Jared (9 years old at the time), Becky (7 years old) and Kevin (4 years old). She made her First Holy Communion and was Confirmed into the Catholic Church at the Easter Vigil on April 18, 1992. She oftentimes relied on the Lord and the intercession of the children's biological mother for help in raising her stepchildren. She always made room for her stepchildren's biological mother, and she was never jealous of her - always keeping her memory alive. The family went camping most years, and she showed off her love of nature during these trips. She also would make a delicious pot roast and mashed potatoes for the family - a specialty of hers.
She and Charlie divorced in 2001, but they were at peace with one another, and Debbi was there for her stepchildren's main events in their lives (graduations, weddings and other celebrations). Debbi remained friends with most of her in-laws that she had through Charlie as well. She was a good friend to all!
In her retirement, Debbi got to do what she loved to do again - TRAVEL! She sold or got rid of most of her possessions, and she hit the road in an RV - perfect for someone who loves camping. Her goal was to "never see snow again," and she accomplished that! Debbi also got involved with Arizona Near Space Research where she met and fell in love with Bill McLean, who was good to her in life and death.
Debbi had a great sense of humor and being "facetious" was one of her favorite pastimes. She was loved dearly and will be sorely missed. A memorial Mass will be held at 1 p.m. at Incarnate Word Catholic Church on March 1.
