Dennis R. Stephens, a life-long resident of St. Louis, was born on August 16, 1942, and passed away on June 6, 2024. He was predeceased by his parents, Russell and Ester Stephens, and his beloved wife, Janet. He is survived by his son, Keith, daughter-in-law, Sarah and son, Garett Rogers, granddaughter, Bella, grandson Wyatt, nieces and nephews, Rhiannon, Ross, Atlas, Charles, and Austin.

Following in his father's footsteps, Dennis spent his career of 35 years as a shoe designer for Brown Shoe Company.

From childhood through adulthood Dennis was an avid outdoorsman. He hunted and fished. His incredible devotion to Scouting encompassed 40 years of his life. As a youth, Dennis earned the rank of Life Scout and participated in many leadership roles. He was a member of the order of the Arrow. Later in life, he became an Assistant Scoutmaster and then a Scout Master.

While in high school, he continued in Scouting as well as being a member of ROTC. After graduation, Dennis joined the Army here he enjoyed is time as a Battery Armorer. He followed that time in the Army Reserves and the Missouri National Guard.

Dennis gave his time, energy, and financial resources to many charitable causes. He was known for his generosity and patience.

Dennis was beloved by all. May he rest in peace and remain in our most beloved memories.

Memorial visitation will be held, Monday, June 17, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Ortmann Funeral Home, 9222 Lackland Rd., Overland, MO.
