Diane J.
Markovitz
April 3, 1945 – January 25, 2025
Diane Markovitz (née Ciesielski), born on April 3, 1945, was fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church and peacefully passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2025.
Diane was the beloved wife of 54 years to her late husband, Joe, who passed away in 2017. She was the dear daughter of the late Anna Evans and the loving mother of Kim Cox, Joanne Markovitz, Kevin (Christy) Markovitz, Stacy (Matthew) Reynolds, and Gregory (Leeann) Markovitz.
A devoted grandmother, Diane cherished her grandchildren: Adam (Anastasia) Cox, Emily Cox, Ali (Kyle) Brunner, Ryan Markovitz, Aileen (Ben) Auwaerter, Sean and Patrick Markovitz, and Justin (Mallory) and Samuel Reynolds.
She was also a proud great-grandmother, lovingly known as "GG," to Elizabeth and Molly Reynolds and Murray Brunner.
Diane's greatest joy was spending time with her family. She found delight in baking, nurturing her beautiful gardens, and volunteering, especially in her work with school-aged children. Her legacy of love, care, and service will be remembered by all who knew her.
As her final act of generosity, Diane donated her body to Saint Louis University Medical School, offering a gift of learning to future generations.
Her family invites all who loved Diane to join them in celebrating her life and cherishing her memory. A memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel at Friendship Village in Chesterfield.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Diane's honor to Birthright or The St. Vincent de Paul Society , organizations close to her heart.
