Donald J. Bloss, 84, of St. Louis, MO passed away Thurs., June 29, 2023.
Don was born in St. Louis, MO on February 23, 1939, the son of the late Teresa (nee Emmerich) and
Sylvester Bloss. He was united in marriage to Catharine M. (Kay) O'Donnell on June 2, 1973 in St. Louis,
MO.
He is survived by his wife, Kay; daughters Donna Marie Roberts (Clinton Dean) of Goodyear, AZ; Patricia
Bloss Orthwein (Dana Edward) of Elk Grove Village, IL; Grandchildren: Jonathan (Tammy) Madrid,
Randy Madrid, Karen Madrid; three great-grandchildren; sister, Janice Marie Vansaghi; nieces; nephews;
and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his brother, David Joseph Bloss; brothers-in-law, Charlie Vansaghi and
James E. O'Donnell, III; Mother-in-law, Catharine (nee) Bernhoester O'Donnell and Father-in-law, James
E. O'Donnell, Jr.
Don attended St. Cecilia Parish Grade School and St. Mary's High School, served our country as a Marine
for 4 years. He worked for Euclid/Midco Equipment Company/VanKeppel Company and Loos Service &
Supply.
He was a member of St. Monica Parish, Creve Coeur, MO where he served as Eucharistic Minister. He
was a 4 th Degree Knight and a member of the American Legion of Creve Coeur, MO.
Don enjoyed time with family and friends, hunting, fishing, and working in the yard.

Burial with military honors in St. Mary's Cemetery, Montgomery City, MO. Mon. July 3, 2:00 p.m.
