Dorothy "Dot"
Bartnett
February 20, 1929 – November 3, 2022
Dorothy "Dot" L. Bartnett (nee Mersinger)
Passed peacefully and is with the angels. Beloved wife of 55 years to the late Roland Bartnett. Dear mother of Richard Bartnett (Katie Dean), Victoria Fleddermann (Stephen); beloved grandmother of Scott Bartnett (Amy), Kyle Lewis (Melissa), Cassandra Abeln (Ryan), Sabrina Marks (Billy), Thaddeus Immer, Alexis Vitale, Adam Fleddermann, Eric Fleddermann (Abigail DeHart), and Renee Fleddermann; and dear great grandmother. Dear sister to Arlene Vien (Frank), the late Marian Jansen (Clem), and the late Florence Stockglausner (Les); dear sister-in-law to Charles Bartnett (Virginia), Karen Trask-Tyson (Ralph Tyson), Joan Bartnett (Raymond), Sally Bartnett (John), the late Evelyn Neumeister (George), the late David Bartnett (Beverly), and the late Patricia Knott (Charles).
Dot attended St. John the Baptist High School, worked for International Paper and Vita Craft, and was a dedicated parishioner at Mary Queen of the Universe and Most Precious Blood before moving to St. Monica Parish. She was active with the Charismatic Renewal, coordinated three citywide conferences, and worked on many Life in the Spirit seminars. She was certified by the St. Louis Archdiocese as a Spiritual Director and was a spiritual companion to many people. The Holy Spirit was most visible through her love and concern for others. She enjoyed seeing the beauty of God's creation through travel and was proud to have visited all 50 states, 49 of them with her husband Roland.
Her example to her grandchildren is immeasurable. We are grateful for all her prayers sent on the behalf of many. She will be missed, and we will be blessed by her presence in heaven.
Visitation will be on Thursday Nov. 10 from 4pm-8pm at Ortmann Stipanovich Funeral Home 12444 Olive Blvd; Funeral Mass at St. Monica Catholic Church on Friday Nov. 11 at 10am; interment at Resurrection Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Vincent DePaul Society at St. Monica Parish appreciated.
