Edward Gerard
Costello
August 21, 1959 – November 5, 2024
Edward Gerard Costello, 65, of Woodson Terrace, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 5th.
Born on August 21, 1959, Ed was the loving father of Stevie Lee Kahre (Chris) and Vincent Edward Costello (Shaina), and a proud grandfather to Brenden, Jacksen, Cooper, Cora, Donaven, and Carter Wayne. He was the son of the late Vincent and Monica Costello and a devoted brother to Peggy (Jim) Schieszer, John (Kris) Costello, and the late Christine (Chuck) Post, as well as the late Kevin Costello. Ed was also a beloved uncle, CUZ, and cherished friend—a true man of mystery.
A lifelong St. Louis Blues fan, Ed's passion for hockey was unmatched, and he spent many years coaching young players, inspiring them with his love for the game. His energy and dedication to the sport left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Ed's enthusiasm for life extended beyond hockey. He had a profound love for music, often traveling to Florida to immerse himself in the vibrant music festival scene. There, he shared many unforgettable moments with family and friends, always surrounded by the sounds and atmosphere he cherished.
Above all, Ed's greatest legacy is the love he gave to his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be remembered for his joyful spirit, his quick wit, and his ability to live life to the fullest. Though his presence will be deeply missed, his love, laughter, and wisdom will continue to guide and inspire us.
Visitation will be held at Ortmann Funeral Home, 9222 Lackland Rd., Overland, on Saturday, November 16th, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with the service to follow at 1:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The Dream Factory of St. Louis.
