Edward A. Eiswirth Jr. died suddenly December 3, 2023

Baptized into the hope of Christ Resurrection. Beloved husband of the late Kathleen S. Eiswirth (nee Evans) and life partner of Peg Woodworth. Loving father of Jennifer Christy, Stacy (Bruce) Shipman, Erik Eiswirth, Brian (Ashley) Eiswirth, Kurt (Samantha) Eiswirth. Dearest grandfather of Camryn, Kyndal, & Kyla Christy, Gabi, Brennan, & Conner Shipman, Aidan, Owen, & Grace Eiswirth, Emma & Nathan Eiswirth, and Kaleb & Lily Eiswirth. Brother of Nancy Eiswirth and the late Cathy (Richard)Lorber and Peter Eiswirth. Our dear friend.

Edward graduated from Notre Dame University in 1966 where he earned his degree in engineering.

Edward was known for his passion for aerospace engineering, having worked at McDonnell Douglas/Boeing for 50 years. He was at the forefront of the space age working on various projects such as Sky Lab, The International Space Station, and The Space Shuttle. Later he focused on Thermal management and Hyper-Sonic Vehicles obtaining several patents.

Edward loved sport of all kinds especially Notre Dame Football. He enjoyed coaching his children's sporting teams.

After retirement in 2019, he enjoyed spending time with Peg, his children and grandchildren, attending sporting activities, and going out with friends.

Mass will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 15, 2023 at Incarnate Word Catholic Church, 13416 Olive Blvd., Chesterfield, MO 63017. Visitation Thursday evening 4 to 7 p.m. at Ortmann-Stipanovich Funeral Home, 12444 Olive Blvd., Creve Coeur, MO 63044.
