Born April 9, 1924, to Dr. John and Pauline U. O'Connell

Devoted Husband of Catherine G. "Kay" (nee Timmerman) for 73 years; loving father of Kathy (Hector) Martinez, Joseph (Sharon) O'Connell, Timothy (Arlene) O'Connell, Geralyn Orbin and Amanda (Richard) Goldschmidt; beloved grandfather of 20; great grandfather of 31; dear brother of Agnes Mohan and 7 sisters and brothers predeceased, revered uncle, Godfather, golfer, coin collector, sports fan, music enthusiast, member of the Overland Historical Society, St. Louis Victorian Society, and Friends of Tower Grove Park and friend to many.

Joe was a volunteer at the Campbell House Museum and distinguished portrayer of Col. Robert Campbell; active alumnus of CBC High Scholl, class of 1941.

Proudly served his country in WWII as Army Signal Core Intercept Operator in Oahu, Hawaii, 1942-46.

Studied at St. Louis University; successful in pharmaceutical sales for 40 years; devout parishioner, lecturer, and Eucharistic minister of St. Jude Church.

There will be a private, family funeral Mass Saturday, March 12, to Resurrection Cemetery.

A celebration of Life Mass, Saturday, April 9, 11:00 a.m. at St. Jude Church, 2218 N. Warson Rd., Overland, MO
