Ellen L. Herrmann (nee Larson)

86, of Creve Coeur, passed away Tuesday January 3, 2023. Beloved wife of the late Kenneth E. Herrmann; dear mother and mother-in-law of Tim Herrmann (Deborah), Mike Herrmann (Susan), Sue Hopkins (Joe), Tom Herrmann (Kathy), Bob Herrmann (Debra), Marie Mannino (Joe), Nick Herrmann (Sherri) and Chris Herrmann (Maggie); loving grandmother of Rachel Luttrell (Jared), Zachary Herrmann (Kristen), Nicole Stump, Mary Kate Cramer (Mark), Adam Herrmann (McKenzie), Abby Herrmann, Emily Egelhoff (Kyle), Alex Herrmann, Philip Mannino, Thomas Hopkins, Victoria Braun (Michael), Andrew Herrmann, Allison Herrmann, Peter Hopkins, Sam Herrmann, Nick Herrmann, Grace Herrmann, Gretchen Herrmann and Nate Herrmann; loving great-grandmother of Mason, Braden and Tyler Stump, Jack, Emilia and Henry Luttrell, Charlie Cramer and Scout Herrmann; dear sister of Pat Herrmann (and the late Vernon).

Ellen is preceded in death by her parents Fred and Mary Larson, her brothers Fr. James Larson, Joe Larson (Lillian) and sister Mary LaFleur (Joe).

Ellen was a wonderful wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend to many. Ellen grew up in Rochelle, Illinois. She attended Nursing School in Rockford Illinois, at St. Anthony's.  She was very proud of her profession as a nurse. She worked many nights as nurse. She and her husband Ken were married 59 years before he passed away. Ellen was mother to 8, Grandmother to 19, Great Grandmother to 8. She was a true woman of faith and long-time parishioner of St. Monica Parish in Creve Coeur. Ellen's family meant everything to her.

Visitation at the Ortmann-Stipanovich Funeral Home, 12444 Olive Blvd., Tuesday, January 10 from 9-11 a.m. then to St. Monica Church, 12136 Olive Blvd., Creve Coeur, for 11:30 a.m. Funeral Mass. Interment St. Monica Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Monica Parish appreciated.
