Obituary

Garland Ray Westfall of Saint Louis, MO passed peacefully on Tuesday evening, August 22, 2023 at the age of 87, his family by his side.

Beloved husband of the late Evelyn Marie (nee Pauley).  Loving father of Mark (Sophia), Alan (Michele), Roger (Erin); dear grandfather to seven: Loving great-grandfather to three.  Dear brother of the late Bobby and Billy and surviving brother Jimmy Joe. Dear brother-in-law, uncle and friend to many.

Garland was born in Nitro, West Virginia and moved to Saint Louis, MO with his family in 1967. Garland enjoyed the outdoors and loved to fish. He made many trips to Colorado to fly fish for trout as well as fishing the lakes of South Carolina and Florida with his brothers.  Garland loved to canoe the streams of Missouri and fish with family and friends. He enjoyed riding motorcycles in his younger years.  He graduated from West Virginia State College with degrees in physics and Math.

Church and religion were a big part of his life.  He was a devoted Christian and was a Deacon at Afton Baptist.  He later attended Concord Baptist and Parkway Baptist Church.  Garland was honored to be on the Board of Directors for the Clyde Childs Evangelistic Association.  He founded the Westfall Company, Inc., in 1972, which is still in business today.
