Gary J. Ferguson
March 7, 1949 – July 1, 2025
Beloved husband of Kathleen Ferguson (nee Cole) and the late Sharon R. Ferguson (nee Sanborn); dear father and father-in-law of Karen (Tom), Keven (Bernadette), Ryan (Jenny), Sean (Ashleigh) and Brendan (Amanda); loving grandfather of Brittany (Mike), Roy, Chase, Gary, Halen, Maddison, Cole, Emmarsen, Nolan, Eliot, Declan and Conor and great grandfather of Brooklynn; dear brother of Dennis, Sylvia and Roy; dear uncle of Steve and Danny; a dear cousin and friend to all.
Gary loved the simple things in life the most; devotion to his wife, taking care of his family, spoiling his dogs, and tending to his yard. He was quick with a quip to make you laugh when needed and even quicker with a helping hand. Ever the optimist and some might say legendary even temperament, nothing ever seemed to rile him up until his beloved Blues and Cardinals seasons were in full swing. He demanded excellence from his teams and many times during his long fandom, they delivered. No tears were ever shed at first sight of each grandchild, but boy did they flow when the Blues finally won the Stanley Cup. The grandchildren may not have gotten the tears, but his grandsons had the secret handshake and games in the driveway while his beautiful granddaughters were showered with compliments and chocolate mulches. All got lessons on gardening, whether it was inspecting tomatoes or picking strawberries and grapes. They all made him smile the most.
We are proud of the life he lived. A great husband, a great father, and a terrific grandpa.
Gary was a gentle, kind man. A Pillar. An Icon.
