Gavin Michael Ross (Johnston) was bigger than life and lived every moment to create memories with whomever he was with. If he took after anyone in this family it would be his rambunctious and pot stirring Grandpa Johnston, because he lived to make sure anyone who encountered him remembered who he was and laughed. If you know him, you’re probably hearing that goofy giggle of his right now. He was truly unforgettable. Saturday, October 24, 2026 our world lost some of its light when we lost Gavin. His last days were spent surrounded by everyone he loved, doing all of the things he loved, and feeling free and fearless to the very last second. Gavin is proceeded in death by his Uncle SSG Eric Ross, Grandmother Rhonda Bickmore, Great-Grandfather John “Papa” Daigle, Great-Grandmother Frances “Me-maw” Shadrick, and many other family and friends. He leaves behind his adoring and doting mother Renee Ross (Faheel Akhtar), his father and person he looked up to the most - Steven Johnston (Dani Kunin), his beloved little brother and best friend Jesse Johnston (Abby Lillie), Grandparents who cherished him - Mark & Diane Johnston, Great-Grandmother Ida “Nana” Daigle, his favorite rule enforcer Aunt Stephanie and her children - cousins that he adored - Jaxon (Matthew Kutcher), Chance (David Ballard), and Evelyn, his Aunt Breanna, Uncle Micah, the love of his life - Menina Bateman and her family Maria, David, Alyssa, and Ellie, his best friends Dominic Reeves and family, Quincey Simpson and family, Jordan Henson and Sammie Newingham, and the absolutely countless other friends who he considered family and lives he touched. Gavin Michael Ross (Johnston) was bigger than life and made sure we all remembered him. May his memory be eternal. 🕯️
