Kroeger Jr.
June 3, 1940 – May 5, 2023
Harold Alfred Kroeger, Jr. passed peacefully in his sleep from natural
causes on May 5th 2023. He was born in Albany Georgia on June 3,
1940 to Harold A Kroeger, Sr. and Eleanor Rockwell Kroeger. He grew
up in Briar Cliff Manor, New York. He attended the Hackley School
('58) in Tarrytown NY and attended Princeton University ('62) and the
Harvard Business School ('64).
In 1965, he moved to Saint Louis when he bought the Banner Paint
Company. In 1967, he married Carole Denham Ferris from New York.
The following year he acquired the Irwin Paper Group in Illinois; he
subsequently sold the paint company and went on to build Distribix Inc.
a group of nine paper distribution companies in the Midwest. He sold
Distribix in 1990 and established TowerHill Wealth Management.
Hal was an active member of the Young Presidents Organization and
served as the St. Louis Chapter Chairman and nationally as a director.
He was committed to the St. Louis community; he was a trustee and
President of the St Louis Zoo and was active in creating the
Zoo/Museum tax district. Over the years, he served as trustee of the
Repertory Theater, Missouri Botanical Garden, and Saint Louis Country
Day School. He also served as a trustee of the United States Ski Team
and the Indian Mountain School in Connecticut.
Hal loved skiing, sailing and golf with his friends…. And most of all he
loved his dogs.
He is survived by his wife, Carole (separated); two sons, Harold
Rockwell Kroeger "Rocky", (Heather Rosner) and George Ferris
Kroeger (Emily); and seven grandchildren; his brother, Keith
Kroeger (Susan.) He is preceded in death by his sister, Lynn Kroeger
Daly and his grandson George Ferris Kroeger, Jr.

Country Club from 4:30-6:30 PM CDT on Saturday, May 27th.
