Helen O.
Ziegler
November 7, 1928 – April 16, 2024
Helen O. Ziegler (nee Kratz), age 95, took the hand of the Lord and went into his paradise on Tuesday, April 14, 2024.
Beloved wife of the late Raymond G. Ziegler; dear mother and mother-in-law of Christine (Michael) Duggin, Steven (Christine) Ziegler, Douglas (Michelle) Ziegler, Elizabeth (Leslie) Suhayda; dear grandmother of Laura Suhayda, Matthew (Melissa Dutcher) Suhayda, Jessica (Travis) Nute, Megan (Brandon) Kuegler, Michael Duggin, and Tiffany Durkan; dear great-grandmother of Nadia, Carson, Ava, Kaden, Eleanor, Edith, Jack, Harley and Brayden; our dear step-grandmother, aunt, great-aunt, cousin and friend.
She was a graduate of Affton High School and was proud to be 1 of 3 living classmates of 1946. Those who knew her always stated that she was a kind soul with a heart of gold. Helen worked at Barnes West County as a surgery room housekeeper. She loved her job and the Director at Barnes stated that Helen was irreplaceable. After her husband passed away in 1993, she wanted to spend as much time as possible with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Helen's love of animals was beyond words. She was a dog lover, bird gatherer like St. Francis of Assisi, who fed the little winged animals, squirrel tamer, who came to her front door for nuts, plus all the pets she had from guinea pigs to box turtles. Her faith guided her daily and she attended church weekly. Helen spent a portion of her income on many charities. It is hard to put into words the many good traits about her. She was compassionate, loving, encouraging, supportive, comforting, smart, honest, loyal, beautiful and a generous soul. She, will be truly missed by all who knew her. God has gained a true angel back in His paradise. We will all meet again and oh, WHAT A JOY IT WILL BE!
