James "Jim" C. Blair, PhD

April 28, 1942 – March 17, 2019

James "Jim" C. Blair, 76, husband of Marijo Pfendler Blair of Indianapolis, Indiana, went into the presence of his Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday, March 17, 2019 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri. Born April 28, 1942 in Orrville, Ohio, he was the son of the late Lloyd and Zella Blair.

Jim had degrees from Asbury College in Wilmore, Kentucky and Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, as well as a PhD in Computer Science from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. In December 2018, he retired from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri as an adjunct professor in Project Management. He was a former member of New Community Church in Wildwood, Missouri and most recently a member of First Evangelical Free Church in Manchester, Missouri. Throughout his life, Jim enjoyed running, hiking, biking, playing chess, and watching science fiction movies and shows.

Jim is survived by his wife, Marijo Pfendler Blair; son Michael "Mike" and wife Cynthia Blair and daughter Cynthia "Cindy" and husband Kyle Stockman; 4 grandchildren, Jacob Blair, Megan Blair, Caleb Stockman, and Elijah "Eli" Stockman.

Services : Visitation at the Ortmann Stipanovich Funeral Home, 12444 Olive Blvd., Creve Coeur, Friday, March 22, 5:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at First Evangelical Free Church, 1375 Carman Rd., Manchester, MO 63021 Saturday, March 23 at 10:00 a.m. with visitation at church one hour prior to service.
