Obituary

James B. Pollihan (Jim), 68, passed away suddenly on February 12, 2023.  Beloved husband of Barbara (Rustic) Pollihan.  Dearest father of Madison.  Son of the late Hank and Pat Pollihan.  Loving brother of Tom (Rosaire), Bob (Pam), Ellen Mann, and Jack (Nanci).  Brother-in-law of the late Cindy Pollihan.

Dear uncle of Emily (Brent), Kimberly (Neil), Ryan (Mollie), Michael, Kevin (Chloe), Justin, Andy, Blake (Kathleen), Brittany (Ryan) and Bryce.  Dear nephew, cousin, great uncle and friend to many.

Jim was drafted out of Quincy College in 1976 and played professional soccer in the NASL, MISL and for the US National Team.  His soccer career continued as an Assistant Coach for the Baltimore Blast and as Head Coach of the Harrisburg Heat.  Jim was inducted into numerous Soccer Halls of Fame, including Quincy University, NAIA and St. Louis.  He continued to play soccer after his retirement, as well as enjoying golf.

Services:  Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 11:00 am at St. Ann's Catholic Church, 7530 Natural Bridge Road, Normandy.  Gathering immediately following Mass in the Parish Center

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Quincy University for the Patricia A. Pollihan Scholarship, Attn:  Matt Bergman, 1800 College Avenue, Quincy, IL 62301-2699 preferred.
