James A. Schillinger

Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church Thursday, April 11, 2024. Loving husband of the late Patricia C. Schillinger (nee Blasi); father of Karen (Roy) Koester and Dan (Joy) Schillinger; dearest grandfather of Danielle (Brantley) Johnson and Sam (Harper) Schillinger; dearest great grandfather of Scarlett Johnson; brother of Carolyn Potter and the late Harry and Robert Schillinger; our dear father-in-law, uncle, great uncle, cousin and friend to many.

Jim was a U.S. Air Force veteran and worked 33 years at the Post-Dispatch. He was an accomplished league bowler for 30 years and enjoyed gardening, growing both flowers and vegetables. He was a very charismatic man who never met a stranger.

He married the love of his life, Pat. They shared 54 happy and wonderful years together. He enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren and great granddaughter. After they retired, they traveled extensively throughout the US and abroad. Jim was devoted Catholic an active member of St. Jude's Parish for over 60 years. His extraordinary faith and compassion will be greatly missed.

Visitation at the Ortmann Stipanovich Funeral Home, 12444 Olive Blvd., Creve Coeur on Sunday, May 5 from 1-5 p.m. Funeral Mass at Incarnate Word Catholic Church, 13416 Olive Blvd., Chesterfield on Monday, May 6 at 10 a.m. Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a veteran organization of your choice.
