Obituary

Jane (Mrs.O) Ruth Gilbert Overstreet July 26, 1934 - December 3, 2022 (88 years old)
After suffering two strokes since June, 2021, Jane passed peacefully at home in Chesterfield, Missouri under the wonderful care of St. Lukes Hospice Care.
Jane was survived by her husband, Larry, and sons, Wally, his wife Barb, David and wife, Mary and Steve. She had seven grandchildren, Emily, Joe, Nick, (deceased) Michael, (deceased) Jonathan, Jacob and Taylor. Followed by seven great-grandchildren, Kennedy, Alexis, Leo, Grace, Zoe Jekabson and Jane Jekabson and Conner.
She will be especially remembered for her family dinners and Christmas Eve celebrations at which she tried to satisfy everyone with favorite dishes and multiple desserts.
While raising her family, Jane was active in the boys' school; at different times, being PTA president, and school nurse. In addition, during her career, she worked several jobs including secretary and "girl Friday" to the owners of the local Burger King franchise back in the 1970s, manager of a Ferguson Velvet Freeze ice cream store, Vivian Woodard cosmetics agent and real estate sales agent. Jane put her heart and soul into everything she did and excelled at them, earning the highest rewards that came with the job.
Jane's last job was owner and operator, with son Steve, of Mrs. O's Cafe and Pie Pantry. Originally it was Looby's Cafeteria in Ferguson. Under the new ownership and name, it was there for a few years then relocated to Grandview Plaza shopping center in Florissant where it operated just months shy of 30 years, most of them under the watchful eye and ownership of son, Steve, following Jane's retirement. She was always well liked and admired by her loyal customers for the variety of food dishes and desserts she introduced to the menu.
Now, Jane was able to travel with her husband, whose job at Watlow Electric took him frequently to Europe, Asia and Latin America. Together, they made many friends around the world. Condolences continue coming in from Switzerland, Japan, Taiwan, and Singapore.
Jane's many interests included decorating her home, planting bountiful flower pots, window boxes and in-ground flowers each spring, sewing curtains, draperies and table cloths to customize her decor.
She will be truly missed by all here friends and family.
