Janet Lee Deming passed from this life into her immortality on October 6, 2026. She was born on December 18, 1958, the second daughter of James Robert Deming and Betty Rose Marler Deming.
She graduated from Pattonville High School in St. Louis, Missouri in 1978. She then attended Sanford Brown College, earning her certification in Data Processing. After graduation, she was employed by National Cash Register (NCR) in their data processing division. She was later employed by Shriner’s Children’s Hospital, continuing to work in data processing.
Throughout her life, Janet demonstrated a competitiveness, an inner strength, that is seldom seen in most people. Her life was not always an easy one. There were challenges which she faced with a determination fueled sometimes by her own personal sense of value and at other times by resolute necessity.
On April 14, 1993 she gave birth to twins Ashley Nicole and James Madison Deming. The arrival and subsequent care of these two children of God guided her life from that time forward. The years that followed were her demonstration of Jesus’ words recorded in Matthew 25:41: “Verily I say unto you, inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.”
In 2001 she met Derek Polston and they formed a partnership that has endured for over twenty-five years, providing both of them the comfort of a loving and caring home. Derek continues to care for Ashley and James as well as looks after Roberta, Janet’s sister.
Janet was preceded in death by both her parents and is now survived by her partner, Derek Polston, two sisters, Roberta Louise Deming and Terri Lynne LoRusso, two nephews, James Joseph LoRusso and Anthony Michael LoRusso and wife Siori, and three great-nephews and one great-niece (Leonardo Vincenzo LoRusso, Luca Dante LoRusso, Lena Beatrix LoRusso, and Louis Matteo LoRusso), and many cousins.
Janet was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church.
