Jason Allen
Kennedy
February 8, 1987 – October 8, 2025
Jason Allen Kennedy, beloved father, son, brother, uncle, Veteran, and friend to many, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2025, at the age of 38. Born on February 8, 1987, in St. Louis, Missouri, Jason lived a full life defined by laughter, loyalty, love — and just the right mix of grease, grill smoke, and freshly cut grass.
A proud veteran of the United States Army, Jason served his country with honor as a Sergeant First Class and Black Hawk Crew Chief. His dedication, leadership, and courage were unmatched, earning him the respect of everyone who served beside him and the lasting gratitude of those who loved him.
When Jason wasn't serving his country, he was serving up something delicious on the grill. He had a gift for cooking — whether it was a backyard barbecue or a campfire meal after a long day of boating or camping — two of his favorite pastimes. Jason also loved anything with wheels and horsepower, from drag races to dirt tracks.
His greatest joy, though, came from spending time with his children — Nathan Allen, Kayden Allen, Baylynn Shae, Karsynn Ruby-Mae, and Camdynn Allenae Kennedy. Whether it was playing sports in the yard, taking them out on the water, or just joking around at home, Jason cherished every moment with his kids.
And speaking of yards — Jason took yard work to a whole new level. He treated his lawn like it was a living work of art, keeping it trimmed so perfectly you'd think he was still running military inspections. The neighbors all knew when "Sergeant Lawn" was on duty, because you could hear that mower start up like clockwork.
Jason is survived by his five beautiful children; his father, Gary Kennedy and wife Janet; his mother, Tina Kennedy; his two brothers and three sisters; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nephews who adored him. He will also be deeply missed by countless friends and family whose lives he touched through his humor, kindness, and big-hearted presence.
He was preceded in death by his loving grandmother, Kathy, and his sister, Melissa, who no doubt welcomed him home with the same warmth and love he shared with everyone here.
A Celebration of Life for Jason will be held at Ortmann's Funeral Home in St. Louis, Missouri. Visitation will take place on Monday, October 13th, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., open to all who wish to pay their respects. Funeral services will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 14th, followed by full military honors at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
In true Jason fashion, guests are encouraged to come comfortable, share a laugh, and tell a story or two — just the way he would've wanted.
Jason lived large, loved deeply, and left behind a legacy of laughter, loyalty, and the faint smell of freshly cut grass. He will forever be remembered for his big smile, his generous heart, and his ability to fix just about anything — even if it required a few choice words and a cold beer first.
