Jean Marie "Jeanie" Edwards

Jeanie (84) (nee Hanley) of Des Peres, MO. passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family Saturday June 4, 2022 at Mercy Hospital, Creve Coeur, MO. She was born October 31, 1937, daughter of Owen C. and Marie Delphine (Downey) Hanley. She was one week shy of the 62nd wedding anniversary to her beloved husband John, whom she married on June 11th, 1960. After graduating from St. Teresa's Academy in 1955, she attended St. John's Hospital School of Nursing and then post-graduate studies at St. Louis University, earning her BSN degree in nursing.

She is survived by her husband John, along with sons Joseph (Margaret) Edwards, Michael Edwards and daughter Kathleen (Kevin) McClain; grandchildren Ian (Krystn), Megan, Kevin and Andrea with great grand-children Audrina and Brooke.

Jeanie also loved her years as a nursing instructor at Maryville University and later in Utilization management at St. John's Mercy Hospital. She was a people person all her life, loving and being loved in return. A bond of friendship was formed with her nursing school class-mates that only grew stronger as the years passed.

SERVICES: A private family memorial service was held June 9th in the Chapel at Resurrection Cemetery with interment following the ceremony. A memorial mass will be celebrated Wednesday, June 22, 11:00 AM at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church - 1510 Bopp Rd. Des Peres, MO.
