Joe L. Guarino

November 5, 1922 – March 16, 2023. Joe passed at age 100 after a short illness at Garden View Care Center of Chesterfield. Beloved dad to Leanora "Leah" (late Bob) Burgess, Vic (Debbie Long) Guarino and Anne (Jim) Madden; loving "No-no" (Grandpa) to Rob (Katy) Burgess, Ryan Burgess, Christina (Casey) Acup and Nick (fiancé Kate) Madden.

Joe enjoyed spending time with his brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank (Chick) Guarino, Jim (late Audrey) Guarino and Marie (late Vito) Barbera;

Having to give up driving and his independent lifestyle was an enormous challenge for Joe especially in the time of Covid and losing his wife Jean in 2021. Joe and Jean were married 72yrs. Joe loved his family, his home and his car. They were his best achievements. Joe and his wife Jean were parishioners of St. Jude Church for over 60 years.

He lived in his own home over 70 years which made it very difficult to move. But he powered through, thanks to the kindness and care he received from the dedicated staff at Garden View Care Center of Chesterfield where he spent the last year of his life. They were all excellent staff.

Joe had the best birthday parties when he turned 100 and was on TV.

Visitation at the Ortmann Stipanovich Funeral Home, 12444 Olive Blvd, Creve Coeur, Thur., March 23 from 4-7 p.m. Funeral Mass at St. Jude Catholic Church, 2208 N. Warson Rd., St. Louis, MO 63114 on Fri., March 24 at 9:30 a.m. Entombment Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Association appreciated.
