John H. Craddock "Jack" Wed., Oct. 12, 2022

Beloved husband of Kathy Craddock (nee Teach); dear father and father-in-law of John H. (Michele) Craddock, Jr. and Adam (Mary Ellen) Craddock; dear grandfather of Jack, Ainsley, Braeden, Sydney, Duncan, Mary Kate, Sam and Nick; dear brother-in-law of Tina Johnson; dear friend of Barbara Wikoff; faithful companion of Drax; our dear uncle, great-uncle, cousin and friend.

Born in Memphis, Tennessee, in 1936, Jack moved to Saint Louis, Missouri after completing his education at Memphis State (for his undergraduate degree) and Vanderbilt University (for his PhD in Chemistry), and post-doctorate work at Princeton University. He met and married Kathy, the love of his life, after which they had two sons and numerous pets. He spent his life building, nurturing, and caring for his family and friends.  In addition to his roles as husband, father, grandfather, mentor and friend, he was a chemist, Indian Guide leader, baseball coach, founded his kids' high school "Dad's Club," art show roadie, dog ball thrower and general cheerleader.  He shared his time, effort, and opinions freely with those who needed him, and often with those who didn't. He was the quintessential Gentleman, and garnered much success as described by the following paraphrase of Emmerson which he enjoyed:

"A man achieves success – who laughs often, loves much, gains the respect of intelligent men, and the love of little children."

Visitation at the Ortmann Stipanovich Funeral Home, 12444 Olive Blvd., Creve Coeur, Fri., Oct. 21, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Service at 1:30 p.m. Interment Bellerive Gardens cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to American Cancer Society appreciated.
