John W. Johnston, 69, of Saint Louis, Missouri, passed away at his home on January 13, 2023.

He was born at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Newport, Rhode Island, and grew up in Saint Louis where he graduated from Ritenour High School.

After graduating, John served 4 honorable years in the United States Navy earning the rank of Petty Officer Third Class and the National Defense Service Medal. After completing his tour, he worked as a salesman where he traveled the states, making lifelong friends at every stop.

John was a man of faith. He was an avid bowler, pool player, and golfer. He loved to play cards and loved to eat. He took every opportunity to surround himself with his friends, loved ones and music. He had a contagious laugh you could hear from a mile away.

He is survived by his significant other Christine Morris, his mother Patricia (nee Sullivan) Johnston, sisters Joan Picker (Mike) and Judy Owen (Rich), his niece Leah Picker (Jeremy), nephews Shawn Hunter and Evan Picker (Diana), and SO MANY FRIENDS. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Johnston.

His St. Louis and Massachusetts families meant the world to him, especially his Aunt Joan 'Shorty'.

Visitation will be on Thursday January 19th from 4-8pm at Ortmann Funeral Home at 9222 Lackland Rd, St. Louis MO 63114. Mass will be Friday January 20th at 11am at All Souls Catholic Church at 9550 Tennyson Ave, Overland, MO 63114.
