John was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, blessed with living close to the majority of his grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. A very proud St. Louisan, he attended, Saint Louis University High School (SLUH) and was an accomplished athlete, earning multiple football and baseball scholarships. He then graduated from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY, where he thrived in athletics and academics. He achieved the All-
American team status for football where he played center. He was proud to be fluent in Russian and incredibly proud of his Irish heritage in County Kerry.

John made a lifelong successful career in the steel business, negotiating both domestic and international deals. As a hobby, he dabbled in real estate development with his father. He was an avid golfer, a 48 year member of Algonquin Golf Club, where he was able to do what he loved with the people he loved. He enjoyed playing golf regularly, entertaining his family and friends, having a cocktail, rooting his children on in swim meets when they were young, teaching his grandchildren how to play football (long snapper and center), baseball, and golf. His true passion was being with his family and friends.

John was a smart man, quick to laugh and draw in humor, who liked to have a very good time. He compassionately and lovingly cared for his wife, Kitty. John was an amazing loyal and loving father, mentor and cheerleader for his children and grandchildren, tremendous friend. John will be forever missed.
