Jablonski, Jr.

Mr. Joseph R. Jablonski, Jr. of Creve Coeur, MO departed this life at his residence on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at the age of 65.
Joe was born on March 8, 1958, the son of Joseph R. and Juanita (Smith) Jablonski. He married his best friend, Leona Zyk, on October 6, 1979 and they remained inseparable until the end.
Joe fiercely loved his family and enjoyed spending every possible moment with his wife, children, and granddaughters, all of whom love him dearly and treasure their times together.
He spent his days being active and traveling. His favorite activities included walking along the ocean, hiking along wooded trails, and relaxing on a cruise ship. Always ready to take part in any sport, Joe participated on several bowling teams over the years, ran half-marathons, and coached many youth sports teams for his children.
A Master Technician, Joe spent over 45 years working as a diesel mechanic. He took a lot of pride in his work and in mentoring new mechanics.
Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Leona; his two children, David Jablonski and wife Priscilla of Torrance, CA, Beth (Jablonski) Hurt and husband Aaron of Franklin, TN; and six granddaughters, Aubri, Ana, Aeryn, Avalon, Paige, and Cami.
Surviving siblings include James Jablonski and wife Rita of DuBois, IL, Jerome Jablonski of Nashville, IL, Jeffrey Jablonski and wife Jeanine of Crossville, TN, Judith Booten of Benton, IL, Jonathan Jablonski and wife Dawn of Ashley, IL, Jason Jablonski and wife Jane of Nashville, IL, Jaycee Faries and husband Michael of Cahokia, IL, Joan Jablonski of Benton, IL, Justin Jablonski and wife Julie of Nashville, IL, and Jared Jablonski of Fairview Heights, IL; two aunts, Irene Bednar of Antioch, IL and Mary Szramkowski of St. Louis, MO; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Janet Burke; three nieces; and two aunts.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on March 8, 2024 at the Ortmann Stipanovich Funeral Home.
