Born on January 17, 1932 to William and Esther Corrigan in Pagedale, Mo. Died on December 5, 2025. Beloved husband of the late Constance Ann (Connie) Corrigan for 53 years; dear father of William, Jr (Ann), Brian (Mary), Kevin (Karen), Lynn Van Oyen (Bill), Michael (Leslie) and Jim (Mary); dearest Papa of Katie, Maura, Brian, Caitlin, Megan, Sean, Molly, Ryan, William Robert (dec), Alexandra, Lindsey, Michael, Jenna, Jenny, Sarah, Joe, Maggie, Ellie, Lucy, Kate, Jack, Tom and Constance Hope (dec); dearest Great Grand Papa of Jodi, Drennan, Genevieve, Rowan, Wyatt, Henry, Cecelia, Logan, Brooke, Holly and Carson.
Judge Corrigan was a graduate of St. Louis University School of Law, class of 1955. For 70 years, he was a respected lawyer and judge and mediator in St. Louis.
He served in the U. S. Army, and while he was stationed in Philadelphia, he met Connie Hadfield in Providence, Rhode Island in 1956, and they married in 1958.
He was a Circuit Judge in St. Louis County (1972-2002), including serving as Presiding Judge of St Louis County. He served as a United States Bankruptcy Judge (1969-1972), a partner in a law firm specializing in plaintiff litigation (1964-1969), and a member of a firm specializing in defense litigation 1958-1964). While in private practice, he tried many civil jury trials. As a Circuit Judge, he presided over and settled literally thousands of cases involving a wide range of disputes. He served as Vice President of the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis and as Chair of the Missouri State Banking Board. He was the Democratic nominee for the Missouri State Senate from the 26th Senatorial District in 1966. Most importantly, he devoted his life to his faith, family, friends and to public service. He was one of a kind.
Funeral arrangements: Visitation at St Clare of Assisi Catholic Church, 15642 Clayton Road, Ellisville, Mo 63011, on December 12, 2025, from 9.30 a.m. to 11.30 a.m., followed immediately by Mass at 11.30 a.m. Funeral arrangements provided by Ortmann and Stipanovich Funeral Homes.
