Julie Ann
Funke
May 5, 1958 – September 5, 2023
Julie Ann Funke
Baptized into the hope of Christ's resurrection on Tues., Sept. 5, 2023.Beloved daughter of the late Donald and Mary Lou Funke; dear sister and sister-in-law of Donny (Patricia) Funke, Jimmy (Jane) Funke, Tommy Funke, Mary Ann (Charlie) Kuehl, Matthew (Tracy) Funke and the late Kathy (Jim) Dougherty; dear aunt of Chrissy (Jim) Womack, Jimmy (Amy) Dougherty, Jacob Funke, Jessica (Erik) Severson, Shannon Funke, Erica Kuehl, Megan (Sean) Flaherty, Katie Kuehl, Chuck Kuehl, Ava Funke, Lyla Funke and Hudson Funke; dear great-aunt of Emma and Kate Womack, Bennett Severson and Lennox Flaherty; our dear cousin and friend of many.
Julie had the gift of connection and she coupled that gift with her passion for living a healthy lifestyle which made an immense impact on the fitness and Yoga communities of St. Louis. She believed in everyone and in turn she helped them believe in themselves. She was a motivator, and somehow always did it with joy, not force. She was a healer, a teacher, a mentor and a friend. She was funny and loud, yet she never wasted words. She chose kindness and had a smile that could change your day. She was authentically and unapologetically herself, she was without judgement, and she never left anyone behind. She gave everyone her best in hopes that they would find the best within themselves. Her generosity and giving spirit were immeasurable. Julie was a perfect living example of humility, somehow always knowing her ability to make a difference in the lives of others was her gift to the world. Her impact goes far and wide, and the loss of her will be felt by many, but she left them all with the tools to carry on without her.
