She began her working career at age 15 at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis delivering food trays to patients. As a teenager she enjoyed playing softball, watching the sitcom M.A.S.H., and watching wrestling with her dad on Saturday evenings. She enjoyed going with her dad fishing at Spanish Lake. She was an avid fan of the St. Louis Blues Hockey team to which she and her husband had season tickets for 37 years. She loved watching the Cardinals baseball team. As a mom she was committed to her boys playing hockey in their younger years and then watching her grandson, Nathan, play hockey. She loved sitting with her two granddaughters. When her health was good she loved singing in the choir, was an avid shopper and more recently enjoyed internet shopping. She was a member of Parkway Baptist Church in Creve Coeur.
