Kathleen Maraid Egan

August 24, 1965– August 14, 2025

Kathleen Maraid Egan, 59, of Overland, Missouri, passed away on August 14, 2025, in her home.

Born on August 24, 1965 in St Louis, Kathleen was the beloved daughter of the late Randall and Mary Ellen Egan. She grew up in University City, a proud member of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, and attended Ursuline Academy for high school.

Kathleen dedicated her life to caring for others, first as a compassionate hospice caregiver and later working with developmentally disabled adults. Her deep kindness, patience, and empathy touched countless lives and left an enduring mark on everyone she served.

She is survived by her partner, Mike Merrells, and their daughter, Madison (Maddy) Merrells. Kathleen was the cherished sister of the late Ellen Galanis (John), Robert Egan (Vicky) and Thomas Egan (Judy).  She was the beloved Aunt and cousin  for many nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.  Kathleen is also lovingly remembered by Casey and Jessica Oppenheim who she welcomed as part of her family throughout her life, and are like daughters to her.

Her warmth, humor, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the many lives she enriched.
