Kris A. Zimmer
June 11, 1959 – March 24, 2022. Cherished husband of Pamela S. Zimmer; proud Father of Kristopher
(Lauren) Zimmer, Amber (Drew) Deptola, Blake Zimmer, and Benjamin Zimmer; Grandfather to his 5
beautiful grandchildren Mackenzie, Riley, Jack, Evelyn, and Harper.
Kris received his Bachelor's degrees in Finance and Accounting from Miami University in Oxford, OH and
his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He began his career at
Ernst & Young before transitioning into healthcare as CFO of St. Ann's/Mount Carmel Health System in
Columbus, OH and Norton Healthcare in Louisville, KY, after which he spent the majority of his career
with SSM Health in St. Louis. During his tenure at SSM, Kris was an integral part of growing the company
into one of the biggest Catholic Healthcare Systems in the country. Over the course of his career, Kris
earned many awards, including Business First's Forty Under 40 and CFO of the Year. Kris left a lasting
impression on everyone he worked with.
Most importantly, Kris was everything right with the world. The life he chose to live was a wonderful
example of how to be admirable, honest, caring, dependable, and passionate.
Everything he dreamed, he did.
He raced dirt bikes, water skied, plowed fields, was a world-class archer, ran companies, hugged
grandbabies, raced trophy trucks in Mexico, walked the dogs everyday with his wife, taught his kids to
build an engine, and loved his family in a way that will continue to be felt forever.
For the immeasurable love he gave us, we can only hope to continue to spread his light to future
generations.
A celebration of life will be announced in the coming weeks in lieu of a traditional funeral.
