Lars Erik Hagen departed his earthly life peacefully at home on November 7,
2024 at the age of 85. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sandra Kieninger
Hagen, his son, Lars David Hagen, daughter, Melissa Tarpenning (Sean) and
grandsons, Aidan, Keiran, and Rowan Tarpenning. He is preceded in death by
his parents Hugo and Mildred (Hartzig) Hagen and sister Sigrid Hagen Grinius.

Erik was a graduate of Webster Groves High School - St. Louis, Elmhurst
College - Chicago, Illinois and St Louis University where he received his Masters
in European History.

Erik's career spanned 39 years in secondary education beginning in Pekin,
Illinois. But the majority of his career was in the Parkway School District first at
Parkway Central, and then with the opening of Parkway West where he
remained as head of the Social Studies Department.

Erik will be remembered for is exceptional memory, his enthusiasm for history,
his joy of classical music including singing with the Bach Society of St. Louis for
numerous years, and his arm chair knowledge of cars both antique and new.
Erik is also survived by members of his recently found biological family who
readily accepted him and arranged to include him as a member of SAR.

A brief memorial service will be held at a later date at Holy Cross Lutheran
Church Creve Coeur, Missouri.
