Lawrence Gerard "Larry" Ransom passed away on December 1, 2025, in St. Charles, Missouri, at the age of 68.
Larry was born August 13, 1957, in St. Louis, Missouri to Charles Emmett Ransom and Margaret Ann "Peggy" Ransom, the eldest of their 5 sons.
Larry was preceded in death by his father, Charles Emmett Ransom.
He is survived by his mother, Peggy; his children, Anna (Tim) Tumulty, David Ransom, and Ellen (Josh) Dixon; and his precious grandchildren, Titus, Lily, Justus, Miriam, Henry, Isaiah, Jack, and Daisy Mae. He also leaves behind his beloved brothers, Christopher (Cheryl) Ransom, Greg (Carol) Ransom, Kevin (Kathy) Ransom, and Glennon (Alicia) Ransom; and his cherished aunts and uncle, Dodie Barnes, Sr. Leonette "Rita" Juengst and Thomas Juengst.
Larry graduated from Ritenour High School in Overland, Missouri in 1975, where he was very proud to say he played basketball all 4 years. He was a Maintenance Supervisor for various companies throughout his working career. He also enjoyed working as a basketball official for more than 20 years and was a member of The International Association of Approved Basketball Officials (IAABO). Larry was an active participant in community service projects such as The Coaches vs. Cancer program and the IAABO/IAFO Scholarship Fund.
Larry loved God, a good meal, an exciting sports game, and most of all his family - of which he was so proud.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2025,from 9:30-11:30 am immediately followed by a serviceat Ortmann Stipanovich Funeral Home - Creve Coeur, Missouri.
