Maria S. Hunt (nee Schnauder)

Baptized into the hope of Christ's resurrection, Thursday, April 28, 2022. Beloved wife of the late Gerald Gene Hunt; dear mother and mother-in-law of Michael (Cindy) Hunt; loving and devoted Oma of Joshua Hunt.

Born in Putschen Czechoslovakia, Maria grew up on her family farm. At ten, her family was forced to leave her home town to seek a new life in Germany where she would eventually meet her beloved Gerald. Maria loved her family deeply. She was a strong and resilient woman who refused to give up even during times of great life changing challenges.

She was an avid fan of bowling, tennis and golf. She loved to knit for her family and she also enjoyed knitting for children in need.

Funeral Mass at Incarnate Word Catholic Church, 13416 Olive Blvd., Chesterfield on Thursday, May 5 at 11 a.m. with visitation at church one hour prior to service. Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675-8516.
