Marian Galvin (nee Simpson), fortified with the Sacraments of the Holy Mother
Church, passed away on August 11, 2023 at the age of 94. Beloved wife of
Charles Joseph Galvin; loving mother of Patrick (Trisha), Ann (David Cade),
Timothy (Katharine), Gregory (Sandra), Casey (Anh Dao), John (Constance),
Robert (Leslie), and Anthony (Margaret). Cherished grandmother of James,
Jessica (James Ruebsam), Alishea, Benjamin (Sarah), Brandon, Ryan
(Michelle), Michael, Colleen, William (Allie), Jonathan, Alexander, Sydney,
and Lucas. Doting great grandmother of Trenton, Matthew, Harold, Rosella,
Charles, Mason, and Shiloh. Preceded in death by husband Charles Galvin,
parents Walter and LaNel Simpson, and sister Ruth (Mills). After raising her
family, Marian spent more than 20 successful years in sales, retiring in 1994.
Marian was an avid gardener, golfer, and was an organist at St. Monica
Catholic Church. Her passions were for God, Family (especially her great
grandkids), genealogy, volunteering, playing cards and bridge, watching
Cardinal's Baseball, and her dogs.
Visitation and funeral at St. Agnes Home (Chapel), 10341 Manchester Rd,
Kirkwood, MO 63122 on Friday August 25th. Visitation from 8:30 am -10:00 am with a 10:00 a.m.
funeral mass to follow. Interment at St. Monica Catholic Cemetery, 12136 Olive
Blvd., Creve Coeur immediately following mass. The family wishes to thank
the compassion of the sisters, nurses, and staff of St. Agnes Home along with
the staff of Gentiva Hospice St. Louis. In lieu of flowers, the family requests
donations be directed to St. Agnes Home.
