Baptized into the hope of Christ's resurrection, Marianne departed this earthly life on Friday,
November 25, 2022, at the age of 67 years.
Marianne's life focused on her commitment to educating and helping others. She received her
Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing as well as her Master of Science Degree from Barnes
College of Nursing. She was a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner and was the former Health
Education Supervisor for the Department of Community Health and Environment in St. Charles
County. A committed Christian, Marianne was a pioneer in the parish nurse movement within
the Lutheran community of St. Louis. She served several Lutheran congregations as their parish
nurse and was recognized for her efforts in establishing an innovative way of nursing care by her
graduating class at Barnes College of Nursing. Marianne was an active member of Hope
Lutheran Church in St. Ann where she served in many volunteer capacities. She was a
supportive, encouraging, and caring mentor to many. Bravely battling brain cancer the past 9
months as a result of a glioblastoma brain tumor, Marianne participated in clinical trials with the
hope of providing valuable information to the medical community.
Marianne was the cherished daughter of William and Dorothy (Krueger) Wheeling. She was the
beloved wife of Anthony (Tony) Adolf. Loving mother of Scott Kipper, M.D., stepmother to
Allison Adolf, and special "Nana" to Tyler Quest. She was deeply loved by her sister Becky
Wheeling Hauk (Bill) and brother Bradley Wheeling (Kathy). Marianne was a devoted sister-in-
law to, Rita Adolf, Angie Shelton (Jerry), Camile Andrews (Ray), aunt, great-aunt, cousin, and
friend to many.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hope Lutheran Church in St. Ann, MO or the Sally
Jungclaus Glioblastoma Research Fund c/o The Foundation for Barnes Jewish Hospital, 1001
Highlan ds Plaza Drive West, Suite 140, St. Louis, MO 63110.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 1 from 4:00-8:00 pm at Ortmann-Stipanovich
Funeral Home, 12444 Olive Boulevard, Creve Coeur, MO. On Friday, December 2, there will
be a visitation at Hope Lutheran Church, 10701 St. Cosmas Lane, St. Ann, MO from 10:00-
11:00 am followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am. Interment at Jefferson Barracks National
Cemetery.
