Obituary

Mary W. Riesmeyer (nee Weis)
November 1, 1940 – February 2, 2026

Baptized into the hope of Christ's resurrection, Monday, February 2, 2026. Beloved wife of the late Robert Riesmeyer, Jr.; dear mother and mother-in-law of Matt (Kathy) Riesmeyer, Andy (Lesley) Riesmeyer, Katie (Mike) McDowell and Dan (Erin) Riesmeyer; loving grandmother of Brendan (Kaitlin) Riesmeyer, Colin (Clare Klinkhardt) Riesmeyer, Abigail Riesmeyer (Tyler Wade), Sean McDowell, Sarah McDowell, Connor Riesmeyer and Lyla Riesmeyer; loving great-grandmother of Colton Riesmeyer; dear sister of the late Matthew (Susan) Weis, Jr.; our dear sister-in-law, aunt, great-aunt, cousin and friend.

Mary led a religious life. She received her primary and secondary education at Villa Duchesne, and graduated from Maryville University. She married Bob Riesmeyer on February 24, 1962 and they were famously in love. The foundation of their marriage was the love of God and each other. Together they devoted their lives to family, friends, community, and sharing God's love by word and example. The Riesmeyer house was always open with their gift of hospitality. Mary was quite active in St. Monica's parish life, and she was generous with volunteering and donating to charitable organizations. Mary had so many dear friends both in and outside the parish—too many to list here, and we thank them all for their loyalty and friendship.

The family thanks all the Doctors, Nurses, Techs and Staff at Mercy Hospital, Creve Coeur for the excellent care provided to Mary during her stay. The family gives a special thanks to the dedicated Nurses and Staff at de Greef Hospice House for the tender care, respect and dignity they provided to Mary in the last days and hours of her life.
