It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mary Ellen Serbi, age 96, of St. Louis, Missouri. She passed away peacefully on February 22, 2025 at Missouri Baptist Medical Center.

Beloved wife of the late William Serbi, dear mother to Debbie (Tim) Reynolds and Michael Serbi who survive in their homes. Aunt to Scott Gray, Doug Gray, and Judy Stebbens. Grandmother to Bryan McSorley and Libby (Chris) Zukowski, and great-grandmother to Jack. She will be missed by her many friends and family members.

Born on February 18, 1929 in St. Louis, Missouri, Mary dedicated many years of her life to volunteer work, making a significant impact on her community. She generously volunteered her time with the AARP Grief and Loss program at the Maryland Heights Community Center and Brookdale Senior Living at Creve Coeur, where her empathy and kindness offered solace to those experiencing loss. Mary also enjoyed spending time at the Missouri Botanical Garden. She spent many hours there exploring and volunteering.

Preceded in death by her parents and her brothers Owen ("Buster") and John ("Jack") Gray.

A visitation will be held on Tues. February 25, 2025 from 4-7 pm at the Ortmann Stipanovich Funeral Home, 12444 Olive Boulevard, Creve Coeur, MO 63141. A funeral service will be held privately at a later date.
