Matthew James O'Neill baptized into the hope of Christ's resurrection, Sunday, December 11, 2022, at the age of 21.

Beloved son of Patrick (Jennifer) O'Neill and Susan O'Neill; dear brother of Robert Joseph O'Neill, John and Will Higgins; dear nephew of the late Robert (Kim) Rapp, Linda Ray, John (Tracy) Rapp, Ann (Cliff) Townsend, Mike O'Neill, Jane (Greg) Hilton, Joe (the late Carolyn) O'Neill and Julie (Chris) Hickey; grandson of Ann O'Neill and the late Jim O'Neill, and the late Robert and Barbara Rapp; step-grandparents of Ralph and Myrna Weiland, Step-nephew of John Weiland and Joy McMillen, and Chris and Anne Weiland.

Matthew spent his younger years in St. Louis, attending Immacolata and Incarnate Word Elementary Schools.  He enjoyed sports, Scouting, the outdoors, and spending time with friends and family.  Matthew graduated in 2020 from Wellsville High School in Wellsville, Kansas, and worked most recently as a security technician.  Matthew had a passion for animals, video gaming and computers, and enjoyed collecting edged weapons.  His care and concern for others, dry sense of humor and knack for verbal sparring and debate will be missed.

Funeral from the Ortmann Stipanovich Funeral Home, 12444 Olive Blvd., Creve Coeur, Mon., Dec. 19, 9:30 a.m. to Incarnate Word Church for 10 a.m. Mass. Visitation from 4-8 p.m. Sunday. Interment Calvary Cemetery Wed. Dec. 21, 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, Masses preferred.
