Michael (Mike) Dardas 82 of Chesterfield MO passed away peacefully at home August 9th, 2024. At the time he was with his loving wife Cherie.
Preceded in death by his daughter Bethany (Richard) Stephens.
Mike is survived by his wife of 61 years Cherie Dardas, children Steve (Suzie) Dardas, Lisa (Steven) Haug and Denise Dardas. Grandchildren Kathryn (Matthias) Pupillo, Tyler (Kaitlyn Burke) Stephens, Benjamin Dardas, Andy Haug, Stephanie (Shane) Asel, Meagan Dardas, Abi Dardas, Matt Haug and six great grandchildren.
Mike's surviving sisters include Karen Romanow and Kathy (Mike) Gross.
Born on August 22, 1941 in Bay City, Michigan to Michael J. Dardas MD, and Kathryn Dardas a nurse, teacher and founder of a school for deaf children. He spent his early life in Bay City, married the girl next door and moved to St. Louis.
A lover of sports, he played on a State Championship winning football team in High School. After graduating college at St. Louis University, he played Rugby for the Rambler League for more than 10 years. Mike also volunteered as a WestCo football league coach teaching young boys the love of football.
Mike spent his entire career in the Financial Services industry and enjoyed the time he spent with his clients. He was a long term member of Incarnate Word Parish and an avid supporter of Catholic Ministries. Mike served as a Eucharistic Minister, Lector, Guided Prayer Leader, Temple Tabulator, St. Vincent DePaul member to name a few.
Mike was a generous man with a kind spirit who was always willing to put the needs of others ahead of his own. For all those who knew and loved him, he loved to tease with a twinkle in his eye. Nothing made him happier than gathering with the family to celebrate any occasion large or small.
Services will be held at Incarnate Word Church 13416 Olive Blvd, Chesterfield, MO, 63017, at 10:30 am Saturday, August 17th with visitation beginning at 9:30 am in the church vestibule.
